ankor was an exceptional culinary experience. Michelin star restaurant level food and service. It was a treat to experience this restaurant and I look forward to returning soon!

My husband and I did the 6 course tasting dinner with a wine pairing. It was an amazing experience and the food was awesome. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Being nit-picky: the scallop dish was too heavy on ginger, and the tenderloin was almost raw which made it too chewy. Some of the wines were spectacular but one didn’t have much going on. However, whomever does the pairings was very skillful. Overall, this was an amazing experience and cost around $420 Canadian dollars.

Ankor was an amazing dining experience - best food I’ve had thus far in Canada. Staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, yet humble, accommodating and friendly.Food is as good as it looks - I wasn’t expecting such great food in the little town of Canmore, but honestly so delicious. I ordered the 6 course meal and the appetisers were amazing.Shame I was driving, but the wine selection that they had was incredible too.

Canmore Alberta has a plethora of restaurants, but there are a few that raise the culinary bar...ankör is one of those gems. Service was prompt friendly yet professional. The staff are very knowledgeable and wine pairing by the in-house Sommelier was exceptional. Noise level was low, dress was fairly casual (it's Canmore!) but ankör deserves smart casual attire.

What an experience! We had an exceptional time at ankor and wanted to order almost their entire menu! Everything we got looked and tasted fantastic, clearly showcasing the kitchen's care, thought, and attention to detail. For what you get, including the friendly service, the price is very fair.Their tasting menu is simply a curated selection off their regular menu. This is good but we had hoped it would be different, unique creations instead. That didn't take anything away from our visit though, just something to be aware of.

Easily one of the best fine dining restaurants in the Canmore and Banff area, with a price tag to match, though those converting from USD will find it a bargain. The best dish of the Ankor experience was the foie gras which was divine by Western Canadian standards (and very good by European standards).Flavours are mild and conservative, though plating and presentation are outstanding. Portions in the Ankor experience are small, and the protein component too small and often lost in a sea of flavoured foams. Our table of three ordered an extra dish so as not to be hungry (and I know what to expect having eaten at dozens of Michelin starred restaurants).Based purely what is on the plate, this would be almost a Michelin One Star. Unfortunately, the parking lot is unpaved gravel, the interior design lacking in harmony, the wine list limited (but good), and the serving staff didn’t know the answers to simple questions like what kind of beef is the tartar (not even Canadian wagyu) or what kind of potato fondant is this (Yukon Gold).If you have one splurge meal in the area, I would recommend Eden in Banff. If you specifically want fine dining in Canmore itself, then Ankor is a great choice.

Wow, where do I even begin. First of all, Ankor is definitely a Michelin star worthy restaurant. Chef Danny and his team are phenomenal. Everyone on the team has such a high attention to detail, you can feel it and see it. You have to experience this yourself. We had the tasting menu, and each dish was so flavourful and thoughtfully paired and plated. Their cocktails and wine selection are wonderful too! Highly recommend checking out this spot. You will rave about it too.

Was recommended Ankor by friends that lived in Canmore as they said this was their favourite restaurant ever. We got their 6 course tasting menu for $110 which came with: amuse bouche (not pictured), foie gras (not pictured), tartare, scallop, cod, duck, and an apple dessert. I love how they use contrasting textures and flavours which elevates everything. All were beautifully plated and tasted amazing! My favourite dish of the night was the duck which was served two ways (dry aged breast and duck leg confit). We also ordered the Vietnamese coffee and anti-cillin and both were delicious. Staff were attentive and amazing as well! I highly recommend giving Ankor a try if you’re ever in Canmore.
